This policy explains how I, Ali Khalil, REALTOR®, Sales Representative with Royal LePage Terrequity Realty, Brokerage, Independently Owned and Operated, collect, use and protect your personal information when you use alikhalil.ca. It is written to meet Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL).
What I collect
I only collect what you choose to give me through a form on this site:
- Your name and email address when you request the free Renter-to-Owner Guide or sign up for my newsletter.
- Your name, email, phone number and message when you book a buyer, seller or downsizing consultation or use the contact form.
- Whether you ticked the box to receive my monthly newsletter, and the date and page where you did it.
How I use it
- To send you what you asked for, such as the guide or a reply to your message.
- To follow up about your real estate question or consultation.
- To send my monthly newsletter, but only if you ticked the newsletter box or signed up for it directly.
- To keep the records I am required to keep as a registered real estate salesperson under the Trust in Real Estate Services Act, 2002 (TRESA).
I do not sell or rent your information to anyone.
Who helps me handle it
I use a small number of service providers to run this site and my follow-up. They process your information on my behalf and only for the purposes above:
- Webflow hosts this website and receives form submissions.
- Zapier passes form submissions to my email and contact tools.
- MailerLite sends the guide email and, if you opted in, my newsletter.
- HubSpot is where I keep my contact records and notes.
Some of these providers store data outside Canada, including in the United States and the European Union, where it may be accessible to authorities under local law. My brokerage, Royal LePage Terrequity Realty, Brokerage, may also access records where required for regulatory compliance.
Emails and your consent (CASL)
Requesting the guide means I will email you the guide. That is it. You will only receive my monthly newsletter if you tick the newsletter box or sign up for it separately. Every email I send includes my name, my brokerage's mailing address and a one-click unsubscribe link. If you unsubscribe, I will stop within 10 business days, and usually right away.
How long I keep it
If you become a client, I keep transaction records for as long as TRESA and my brokerage require. If you do not, I keep your contact details for up to 24 months after our last contact, then delete them, unless you ask me to delete them sooner.
Your choices
You can ask me at any time to see the information I hold about you, correct it, or delete it (subject to the record-keeping rules above). You can unsubscribe from emails with the link at the bottom of any message.
